Here, at Prudhoe Street Mission, we take God's word as final authority and pursue
excellence and integrity through Spirit filled Bible teaching and Anointed Sunday
meetings.
Prudhoe Street Mission was founded in 1910 by George Bowran in the city of Newcastle
upon Tyne, and today is still a thriving and exciting place to be.In September 1974
Tom and Miriam Leighton became the new Pastors of the 'Mission' as it is affectionately
known and they still hold that position today. As their faith and trust in God has
grown, so their ministry has grown and flourished until today they have a centre
for learning which is second to none.Their is one aim at the 'Mission' and that
is to further God's Kingdom and with that as the focus, under the guidance of Tom
and Miriam there are teams every week going onto the streets of Newcastle preaching
and witnessing to people. There is also an overseas ministry that is flourishing
under their guidance with teams going out at least twice a year to Kenya.
